You may have noticed a mix up in your local search rankings. If so, you're not alone.

Barry Schwartz has posted over at search engine roundtable about local search ranking changes going on now on Google. Over the last few days, some significant changes in rankings are now affecting local pack listings as well as Google map listings. Earlier this month Google suspended Google Map Maker and vowed to make some adjustments to prevent fake edits. It seems that this update has a larger reach than anticipated.

Although Google has kept quiet about any updates, we have seen several changes in the local packs and some significant changes with no other identifiable factors.  I assume this is due to the update Google performed on maps. It could be another algorithm change, however the timing and nature of the changes seems to match a little too closely. Let us know if you have seen any major changes in your rankings, and what kind of effect it has had.
